Kindergarten Orientation

At Beverly Hills North Public School, we offer an extensive Kindergarten Orientation and School Readiness Program to support your child's transition to school life. This is a valuable opportunity for students to connect and feel safe and secure as they take the exciting step of starting Kindergarten.

Our Kindergarten Orientation Program is held over a three week period. Your child is invited to attend these sessions to be held on the following days:

Classroom Visit – Monday 26th October, 2025 9:30-10:30am

Parents and children attend an informal session in a Kindergarten classroom, where children join their future classmates and participate in the type of activities they will experience at the beginning of Kindergarten.

Starting School Information Session and Classroom Visit – Wednesday 4th November 9:30-10:45am

Children will join a Kindergarten classroom where they will take part in engaging activities, work alongside their classmates, and explore the learning spaces, amenities, and play areas to become familiar with the school. They will meet new friends and many of the staff that will support them next year.

During this time, parents are invited to attend an information session in the school hall. This will also be an opportunity for parents to become more familiar with school routines and expectations, ways to best prepare children for a smooth transition into ‘big’ school and to answer questions.

School Readiness Information Session and Classroom Visit – Tuesday 10th November, 2026 9:30-10:45am

The morning will begin with a welcome concert performed by our current Kindergarten students in the hall. Children will then join a Kindergarten classroom, where they will take part in fun, engaging activities and experience a typical morning routine, giving them a chance to explore the classroom, meet teachers and peers, and begin building confidence for starting school.

During this time, parents are invited to attend a School Readiness Information Sessions. These sessions will focus on Numeracy, Phonological Awareness, and the InitiaLit program, and will provide a wonderful opportunity to gain helpful strategies, ask questions, and learn how best to support your child as they begin their school journey. Parents will also be provided with practical ideas and resources to support learning at home. To conclude the morning, parents will be invited to a morning tea in the hall, a great opportunity to meet new parents and our Principal Mrs Andriopoulos. We encourage all parents to attend this session.
