Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Our Learner Profile and Merit System
At Beverly Hills North Public School, we recognise and celebrate students who demonstrate positive learning and behaviour through our BHN Learner Profiles.
Our students are encouraged to be:
Respectful
Listen and speak respectfully, show kindness and empathy, use manners and interact positively with others.
Take responsibility for their actions, make positive choices, try their best and care for their own and others’ belongings.
Participate actively in learning, solve problems, communicate ideas, apply their knowledge and strive for improvement.
Make safe choices, play fairly, keep hands and feet to themselves and seek help when needed.
Celebrating Positive Choices
Students are recognised for demonstrating these qualities through BHN Learner Profile points. As students earn points, they work towards Merit Awards and progress through our school award levels.
Merit Award
Students earn Merit Awards by demonstrating positive learning and behaviour choices.
Bronze Award
Awarded after earning 3 Merit Awards.
Silver Award
Awarded after earning a Bronze Award plus 3 additional Merit Awards.
Gold Award
Awarded after earning a Silver Award plus 3 additional Merit Awards.
Platinum Award
Our highest level of recognition, awarded to students who continue to demonstrate our school values after achieving Gold level.
Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards are presented at school assemblies, with student achievements also celebrated in the Kalori. Platinum students receive special recognition at the end of the year.
Our merit system encourages students to make positive choices, take pride in their learning and consistently demonstrate the values of Beverly Hills North Public School.
